Honda Maintains Flexible Production
Honda has announced that it will be shifting production of some of
its models, and will in the process save many U.S. assembly jobs in the
process. While other automakers are cutting production, putting many
employees at risk of losing their jobs, Honda is trying to streamline
its vehicle production operations and save jobs at the same time.
One of the most important cars in the Honda lineup is the current Honda Civic.
While gas prices soar well above $4 in many places around the country,
the Honda Civic has become increasingly in demand as it remains one of
the most popular fuel efficient vehicles in the country. As such, Honda
is increasing the production of the Civic to meet demand.
Meanwhile,
Honda is also shifting its production of the new Honda Pilot and the
Ridgeline pickup truck. Currently built in HondaÂ’s Alliston plant in
Canada, where production of the Civic will be increasing, the trucks
will now be built in HondaÂ’s Lincoln plant in Alabama. The all-new
Honda Pilot has been seen as a positive addition to dealers’ lineup
says Honda Shreveport
thanks to its wealth of features, attractive new styling, and even
decent fuel efficiency. This shift will help save jobs at HondaÂ’s
facilities in Alabama, which is a huge feat while many auto makers are
cutting truck production and jobs.
In addition to shifting its production,
Honda has also announced that it will be building a new facility in
Indiana to help build even more Civics, which has continued to be one
of the most popular models among Louisiana Honda Dealer lots. This new plant will also be responsible for creating an additional 2,000 jobs.
Honda is
looking like somewhat of a hero as Ford and GM seem to be poised to
make even more cuts to its workforce. Meanwhile, Honda vehicles
continue to be in demand for their quality, affordability
, and of
course their renowned fuel efficiency.
